Non ego continuo morior, dum spiritus exit;
Nam redit adsidue, quamvis et saepe recedit:
Et mihi nunc magna est animae, nunc nulla facultas.
Translation:
I do not immediately die when my breath leaves;
For it continually returns, although it often recedes again:
Now is my power of breath great, now is it nothing.
